It was time to paint the town red as the school examinations were over. My 'always busy' family decided to take a break by going on a four days holidays to Fraser's Hill in Malaysia. My brother and I knew only about the piece of good news two days before we left. The dark evening had just fallen upon us when my parents came back home from work together. After they had eaten their dinner, they walked into the living room, settled on the sofa and said to us, "As a reward for working hard for the SA2, we're going to treat two of you to a four-days holiday at Fraser's Hill." We were dumbfounded with surprise when we heard this piece of great news. "Yeah! We are going on holiday! We are going on holiday! We are going on holiday! To Malaysia, off we go!", we sang in joy. We ran around, jumping up and down like mad men on the loose. The next day, we packed our luggages and searched the web to find out more about Fraser's Hill. Suddenly, I thought of something very important: where will we be putting up at ? Immediately, I called my mother to enquire. I was anxious but she was calm. She said we were going to put up at a bungalow at the top of the hill called "Richmond Bungalow." I squealed gleefully, so did my brother. We were all ready to set off.The big day had finally arrived. My father got the car started and we loaded the boot with our luggages. Then, we began to sing again. We were on cloud nine!We stopped every now and then, to fill our stomachs and to ask for directions. Along the way, we spotted mountain goats and durian trees, may things that we could not find in the bustling city of Singapore. Soon, the sky turned dark and hinted us that the day was coming to an end. When we reached the bungalow, a helpful housekeeper came out of the house, and brought our luggages to our room. He introduced himself then he said,“You all must be famished. We have prepared a set of delicious homecooked dinner for each of you. Please come this way." He showed us the dining area. My brother and I sniffed at the aroma of the food gleefully. A fireplace was set up beside the table. I felt very warm, so warm that it could have been the warmest area in the house. My brother and I hungrily wolfed down the sumptuous food the moment it was served while my parents ate them daintily, taking sips of hot milo in between bites. There was also a large jug of homemade iced orange juice to quench our thirst. We ate our fill, and not a scrap of food was left. All of us thanked Mr Tan for the meal and we went back to our own room.On the second day, we took our breakfast and went sightseeing. We started exploring the place and bought some souvenirs which include some shirts and magnets. No sooner, thick fog began to appear. We held each others hands tightly in fear of getting last. Then, we decided to head back to the bungalow as it was getting late. On the way back, we saw a coffee shop and decided to have our dinner there instead. The food served was not as quickly as those at the bungalow, but they were just as nice. The next day was so cold that there was not a need for an air-conditioner. So we pulled our jackets out from the luggage and put them on. That felt much better. Again, we had our breakfast inside the house, followed by an exciting game of badminton in the front yard. Then we went exploring again, but this time, downhill. We came across a horse stable and got off the car. My mother spoke to the stable manager and he let us went for a ride on a horse. My brother and I could not believe our ears. This was the first time riding on a horse! Each of us took turns riding on a horse. My father said it used to be a racehorse, but it was too old for racing now. I felt sorry for the hrose and pitied him. Only then, did I realise that horses were such strong but gentle animals. I really had to take my hat off them! Finally, it was the last day in Malaysia. This time, we decided to go on a jungle trek. The tourguide showed us to many different plants and animals which lived in the nearby jungle. Everything especially the colourful roses, amased us.Then it was time to say goodbye to our helpful housekeeper. We bade a tearful goodbye and left for home.
